Put the sugar and the yeast in the warm water so that it activates, leaving it to rest for 5 minutes.
Once the yeast is bubbly (activated), add the oil, salt, and finally the flour and wheat germ. Form a dough and knead it for about 5 minutes, then let it rest with a cloth covering the container for an hour so that it grows.
Preheat the oven to 350º F.
When the dough has risen, divide it into 8-10 pieces and form strips with each piece. Wrap each stick with each strip of dough, and put poppy seeds on top, as well as the pieces of olive as "eyes" on each snake.
Bake the snakes in a greased pan or on parchment paper for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
