Basic Granola

Ingredients

  • 8 cups of oats (for a better result in terms of texture, mix 4 cups of "quick oats", with 4 cups of "rolled oatmeal”).
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (my preference is grape seed oil)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or panela honey, it can also be more honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

  1. In a large container, place the oats.
  2. Place the rest of the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the sweet mixture to the oats in the container and mix well. It should be loose, but completely cover the oats with the sweet mixture.
  4. Divide between two trays and put them in the oven over low heat between 210º to 230º F for an hour or more, until golden brown and dry, turning the granola every 20 minutes.
  5. Let cool and serve with fruit, milk, yogurt, or with your favorite side dishes!
