Tofu-Walnut Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 500g  tofu
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp powdered or finely chopped sage
  • 1 tsp basil

Preparation

  1. Crumble the tofu in a deep bowl.
  2. Add ground walnuts, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, minced garlic, sage, basil and mix to form a dough.
  3. Form the meatballs in a round shape, and put them in a pan to brown on all sides.
  4. If you prefer, you can put them in an oiled tin in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes until they are cooked.
  5. Serve with tomato sauce on top or with any sauce to taste.
