Ingredients
- 1 cup of hot water
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of dry yeast tsp.
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, minced, or 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
- a pinch of garlic powder
- a pinch of oregan powder
- a pinch of dried basil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups of white flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the hot water, sugar, and yeast. Let the yeast activate for about 10 minutes.
- Add the salt, rosemary, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and olive oil and mix.
- Also add the wholemeal flour first, and then the wheat flour. Knead until a dough can be formed.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, adding more flour as needed to prevent sticking.
- Place the dough in the container where you started the process with a little flour on the bottom to prevent it from sticking.
- Cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let the dough rise for an hour.
- Knead the dough again and in a round shape, put it on a greased and floured baking sheet.
- Let it rise again, covered, for 45 minutes before putting it in the oven. It will double in size.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- Once the dough has risen, place it in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the bread is golden brown on top.
