Dahl

Ingredients

  • 500 g yellow split peas
  • 2  garlic cloves
  • 1 piece of ginger, about the size of a garlic clove 
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp thyme or sage
  • 2 Tbs fresh coriander 

Preparation

  1. Cook yellow split peas in water until tender, about 30 minutes.
  2. In a deep frying pan, fry the garlic and ginger in the olive oil.
  3. Immediately put the cooked lentils, and add the rest of the ingredients, except the coriander.
  4. Cook everything for 5 minutes and then add the chopped coriander.
  5. Serve with pita bread and a salad for a delicious lunch!
