Ingredients
- 6 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, etc.)
- They can be fresh, or frozen, (seedless in the case of cherries).
- 1 cup of cane sugar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
For the top layer:
- 2 cups instant oats
- 1/2 cup wheat flour or gluten-free flour
- 1/2 cup of cane sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Preparation
- In a medium to large bowl, mix the mixed berries with the sugar and cornstarch, making sure that all fruit is covered with the mixture of the other two ingredients.
- Place the fruit mixture in a baking dish deep enough to have the top layer fit well insde, as the fruit will boil over.
- Using the same now empty bowl, place the oats, flour, sugar and vegetable oil.
- Mix until it forms a moist, loose mixture.
- Spoon the oat mixture over the fruit, from the center out, but leaving the edges uncovered, forming an even layer.
- Put in the oven at 350 degrees Farenheit for 35-40 minutes or until the fruit starts to boil and the juices look clear and glossy, and the top layer looks crispy and golden.
- Serve warm or cold and enjoy!
